In the face of the multiple and shocking facts of Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation and its global reach we can feel disabled by the enormity of it all. However there are actions we can all take which will contribute to changes in the leisure, legislative and economic culture which drives this trade in flesh. CHASTE has developed five tracks of intervention.
- To develop the availability of safe houses in the UK for those who have been trafficked; to develop a network of ‘sanctuary’ homes (development of safety link) and to train those who counsel and support victims
- To address demand of pay-as –you- go-sex and to raise the attention of the general public, agencies of intervention to the role of the user in driving forward the market.
- To develop the range of support for those who are caught in trafficking for sexual exploitation and who currently are being returned to their countries of origin
- To intervene directly with those responsible for passing legislation and releasing budgets to counter trafficking for sexual exploitation
CHASTE is entirely funded from voluntary contributions and Trust funds, and yet has achieved so much in the last three years with scarce resources. We can only develop our impact across our work in safety provision, research, training and awareness raising through the provision of sustainable funds. Every donation, fund raising event, commitment into advocacy for CHASTE makes a powerful difference to what we can achieve. Together we can make a difference. Become involved in the CHASTE movement for abolition of trafficking for sexual exploitation and for securing recovery and hope for survivors today.
Make sure your organisation knows about the work of CHASTE and how it is making a difference in the misery of contemporary slavery in Sex Trafficking today.
