CHASTE welcomes press and media interest in order to assist with information about trafficking. We put out press notices from time to time about our work. Please see our archive page for past press notices.
Our first priority is to protect the security and safety of the women we help. This will mean that we do not bring these women into contact with the press and media unless they have expressed a wish to do so and that their well-being is protected. It will be very rare when this happens. We never disclose the place of the safe houses or invite the media to visit them.
The women and girls who CHASTE helps are usually in an extremely vulnerable state: frightened (and rightly so as they are still in danger of violence from pimp/traffickers if they are located), disoriented, and suffering from a range of physical illness, disease, injury and emotional challenges due to multiple rapes. They frequently have little English and some are in a deeply shocked state.
Our web pages will soon contain stories, case studies and podcasts in resources, which may be useful to the press. Our FAQs pages will also be of interest to the media.
