UKHTC

Logo of the United Kingdom Human Trafficking Centre, red and white

On June 21st 2006, Vernon Coaker MP, parliamentary under secretary for state for policing security and community safety announced a radical new approach to tackling Human Trafficking in the United Kingdom. He announced the launch of the United Kingdom Human Trafficking Centre (UKHTC). This police-led unit combines research and intelligence functions, building on work done during Operation Pentameter.

Pentameter was the largest co-ordinated policing operation the country has ever seen:

UKHTC is the first of its kind in Europe and will aim to increase knowledge and understanding of human trafficking amongst police and partner agency staff as well as encouraging the public to come forward with information.

If you have any information which would assist the criminal justice agencies to fight trafficking please see our Report it web page

Please be in contact with CHASTE if you are able to respond in some way to the provision of sanctuary or funds for our critically important work.

The following pages may shock, but this trade in human flesh is indeed shocking as the road to recovery is slow and in need of all the support that people can muster.

Children and Trafficking

CEOP
