Trafficking of women for sexual exploitation is a local issue. It does not leave a city or large town untouched. If you become suspicious that trafficking is taking place in your locality, it is important that it is brought to the attention of the police. You can do this in a number of ways, some of which will keep your identity anonymous.
These are the ways you can report your concerns:
- Contact your local constabulary or police area. Every police force will have a point of contact on trafficking. Ask to be put in contact with this person.
- Contact the United Kingdom Human Trafficking Centre – UKHTC: www.ukhtc.org, Tel: 0114 252 3891
- You can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 to report anything that you know about any crime.
- STOP-UK 0844 800 33 14
If you are concerned about contacting any of the above or wish to discuss whether you should please contact CHASTE by email on contact@chaste.org.uk or tel: 0845 456 9335. If you wish to remain anonymous this can be arranged. The important thing is to make sure information that leads to the erradication of trafficking and helping trafficked women gets to those who can intervene. Remember if the situation is critical please contact the police.
